MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Always disconnect the power supply before
any inspection or maintenance.
The pumps require very little maintenance.
The vanes in the pump gradually wear out in
time and need replacing. To maximise the life
span of the vanes clean the filters regularly
and keep the tank free from impurities. If the
flow of fuel is noticeably reduced or scraping
or screeching is heard from the pump it is
probable that impurities have been sucked
into the pump. In which case the pump
must be immediately stopped and cleaned,
otherwise it can be permanently damaged.
Check at regular intervals and if necessary
clean the filter on the suction foot. The filter
should also be checked and cleaned if there
is a noticeable reduction in the flow of fuel.
There is also a coarse screen mesh in the inlet
to the red "Selecta" auto shut-off nozzle. This
can be checked by removing the nozzle from
the swivel.
