To Make Coffee with Preground Coffee
The coffeemaker must be washed and thoroughly dried
after each use, particularly the filter cover/bean holder
and filter basket/grinder.
1.
Plug in coffeemaker and set the clock.
2.
Push top cover lock to open top cover. Fill reservoir with
desired amount of water. Care must be taken not to pour
water into the grinder part of the unit.
3.
Remove filter cover/bean holder. Place a #4 cone-shaped
filter in the filter basket. Replace filter cover/bean holder.
Measure gound coffee into filter basket. We recommend
one (1) tablespoon of ground coffee per cup of water.
Replace filter cover/bean holder and press down firmly in
place.
4.
Close and lock top cover. (Unit will not start unless cover
is locked.)
5.
Press the ON/OFF button
twice.
The Brew light will glow
and the coffeemaker will begin the brew cycle.
6.
When finished turn the coffeemaker off and unplug.
Programmable Clock
To Set Clock:
1.
Plug in coffeemaker. The numbers will flash until time
is set.
2.
Press the HOUR button until the correct hour, including
AM or PM, is displayed.
3.
Press the MIN. button until the correct minute is displayed.
To Set the Automatic Brew:
1.
Set clock for correct time of day.
2.
While holding the PROG. button, press the HOUR and
MIN. buttons until the desired automatic brew time is
displayed. Be sure to set to the correct AM or PM setting.
3.
Once Automatic Brew is set, prepare coffeemaker as
described in “To Make Coffee.”
4.
Press the AUTO button for the coffeemaker to automatically
begin the brew cycle at set time.
NOTE:
This clock has a temporary power back-up in case of
brief power failure. You will not need to reset the clock if the
power is lost for only a few minutes.
Cleaning Instructions
To Clean the Inside of the Coffeemaker:
1.
Place empty carafe on Keep-Hot Plate.
2.
Pour one pint of plain white vinegar into the reservoir.
Close and lock top cover.
3.
Plug unit into electrical outlet and press ON/OFF button
twice.
4.
After 30 seconds press ON/OFF button to turn OFF.
5.
Wait 30 minutes to allow the vinegar to clean. Then turn
ON again. When the brew cycle is finished, turn OFF.
6.
Empty carafe and rinse. Pour one carafe of cold tap water
into the reservoir. Close and lock top cover. Place carafe
on Keep-Hot Plate.
7.
Turn ON. When the brew cycle is finished, empty the carafe.
Repeat this process with one more carafe of cold tap water.
8.
Turn OFF when complete.
9.
Clean all parts before making a beverage. See the follow-
ing section.
