5. Commissioning
5.1 Inserting the battery
Warning
The smoke detector only works with a correctly
inserted and functioning battery!

7.

• Connect the inserted battery observing the correct
polarity to the battery connection and insert this
into the battery compartment (see Figure 5).
• When functioning properly, the LED flashes briefly
approx. every 32 seconds.

5.2 Installing the smoke detector
Attach the smoke detector to the base plate affixed
to the installation location by inserting the latching
hooks into the openings provided and turning the
smoke detector clockwise.
Note
If the smoke detector cannot be secured to the
base plate, check that the battery has been
inserted correctly. If there is no battery or it has
been inserted incorrectly, the smoke detector
cannot be attached to the base plate due to a
safety mechanism.
• Check that the smoke detector is securely
fastened to the base plate.
• After installation, the smoke detector must be
tested for function. Proceed as described in
7.1
