IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
WARNING-To guard against injury, basic safety pre-
cautions should be observed including the following:

INSTRUCTIONS
1. DANGER-To avoid possible electric shock, special
care should be taken since water is employed in the
use of aquarium equipment. Follow these safety
instructions carefully.
2. All aquarium appliances must be disconnected
from the mains power supply before servicing an
aquarium or conducting any activity that allows
direct contact with the water.
WARNING: Disconnect the power from all aquarium
appliances before putting hands into the aquarium.
WARNING: If the appliance falls into the water DO
NOT reach for it! First unplug it, then retrieve it. If
electrical components of the appliance get wet,
unplug the appliance immediately.
3. Do not operate any aquarium appliance, which
malfunctions or is damaged in any way. The power
cord of this appliance cannot be replaced; if the elec-
trical cord or plug is damaged, discard the appliance.
4. WARNING: The motor has no user serviceable
parts. Do not attempt repairs yourself; return the
appliance to an authorized service facility for service
or discard the appliance.
5. To avoid the possibility of the appliance or sock-
et getting wet, position the aquarium to one side of
a wall-mounted socket preventing water dripping
onto the socket or plug.
6. WARNING: Use a drip loop. A “drip loop” (see
illustration) should be arranged by the user for each
cord connecting an aquarium appliance to a socket.
The “drip loop” is that part of the electrical cord
below the level of the socket or the connector if an
