Operating Modes
Due to the physical properties of a brushless DC motor, it can be operated within its
temperature limits with a wide variety of load profiles and load changes. The speed controller
must be connected to the temperature sensor on the sensor PCB, monitor it and limit the
power consumption of the motor before the temperature limits are exceeded in order to
prevent the motor from overheating.
3.4
Lifespan
The lifespan of the motor is essentially limited because of the ball-bearing.
If the load, temperature and speed limits specified in Chapter 3.8 are respected, the service
life of the motor is:
•
Min. 2500 operating hours
If the limit values are significantly undercut, this can increase the service life of the motor.
To get a binding statement about the service life of the motor in its application, please contact
the Industrial Department of Hacker Motor GmbH.

3.5
Environmental limits
•
Temperature range (°C): -20 to +40°C
•
Relative humidity: < 90% (not condensing)
•
The motor must be installed protected against water, salt exposure, dust and dirt.
•
The motor must be shielded against aggressive environment.
3.6
Voltage limits
Applies to the operating voltage of the motors:
The motor needs to be operated with a suitable speed controller.
Following Voltage limits (Input Voltage Motor) must be fulfilled:
•
<75V DC (From 60V DC upwards, live components must be protected against contact)
•
<50V AC (From 25V AC upwards, live components must be protected against contact)
The maximum permissible voltage can also be limited by the resulting rotational speed. (see
rotational speed limits)
