6 Operation
NOTE!
The eyepiece (3) must be set according to the refraction of the co-
observer.
6.1 Setting the viewing height (Second observer tube long)
The second observer tube can be turned around the horizontal axis coming laterally
out of the beam splitter. This enables the viewing height in the eyepiece to be varied
so that the second observer can look into the eyepiece at a freely adjustable
inclination angle.
FORBIDDEN!
The viewing height should not be adjusted during the examination, as
the patient or person carrying out the examination could be injured.
To adjust the viewing height, the release button (9) must be released first of all. To
do this, the elbow at the side of the beam splitter must be held so that the thumb is
positioned on top of the release button. To stabilize the slit lamp, the other hand
should be used to support the tube. Press and hold the release button and turn the
tube about the horizontal axis on the beam splitter. When the desired inclination
angle is reached, release the release button and turn the tube carefully until the next
engaging point is reached.
