Product overview
As an Ethernet switching control module inside the blade enclosure, the H3C UniServer BX720E
switch module (BX720E for short) provides data switching functions for servers installed in the front
slots of the blade enclosure and centrally provides external data ports, to achieve the communication
between blade servers and external networks.

Redundancy of devices
Up to six switch modules can be installed in a blade server chassis. For more information about the
installation position, see
. Switch modules in slots 1 and 4, 2 and 5, and 3 and 6 are
interconnected by the internal ports of the switch modules in pairs to form three pairs. Each pair can
be used as a switching plane, and you can configure the pairs of switch modules in active/backup
mode as required.
