Step 5 - Enabling a Display and Auxiliary Relay Alarm
FlowVis Digital enables the user to program the Display to either flash, change color, or both, whenever a flow rate condition
is reached. The desired condition is set as a flow rate value that is either:
1. Above the value set
2. Blow the value set
3. In between the two values set*
4. Outside of the two values set*
*For either option c) or d), a second window will appear that will allow you to enter the second value.
Example:
You want the Display backlight to flash red when below 25 GPM.
Solution:
a) Check the box that is labeled ‘Change Backlight’, b) Select the option to ‘Flash’, c) Select the option labeled
‘Below’, d) Enter the value ‘25’.
Step 6 - Setting the degree of Sensitivity
It is quite common to see turbulence in the flow stream; this may be caused by other equipment such as heaters, filters or
even simply other plumbing fittings such as tees or elbows. Under such conditions, it is advisable to set the sensitivity to its
default value of ‘Low’ - meaning that the flow readings and any features related to that reading (such as the Turnover Rate or
the Visual Alarm), are not too erratic in their readings.
auxiliary relay (optional kit)
The Auxiliary Relay option is a valuable feature that allows the FlowVis Digital user to control external devvices such as
Heater and Chemical Feeders at user-defined flow rates. For example, you may want to control the Chemical Feeder to
operate only above 20 GPM.
The Auxiliary Relay option kit installs into the rear of the FlowVis Digital Display enclosure and comprises the following items:
