Appendix I: Set up a PC-based Single Directory Server
6. Set up Windows

, including display language, regional settings, date, time, time
zone, screen resolutions, and network parameters. For details, see the installation
manual of GVD
Central Management Platform .
7. If your PC is powered by Windows
®
Server 2012 or 2016, manage the password
policy as described in Appendix II: Manage password policy for Windows® 2012/
2016 ;
OTHERWISE
JUST IGNORE and proceed to step 8 .
8. Get an optical disk drive. Connect it to an external power source and also to the PC.
9. Get the
Installer CD, which comes with GVD
E4200 Control Workstation
and
D4200 Video Wall Decoder . Insert the
Installer
CD in the optical disk drive.
Optical disk drive
Connect the
optical disk drive
to an external
power source as
well.
Connect the
optical disk
drive to your
PC.
Then
insert the
Installer
CD to the optical disk
drive.
