Lesson 7: Adjusting the Voice rate of speed.
Steps:
1.
Begin listening to a document.
2.
Press and release the Pause Key.
3.
Press and HOLD DOWN the
Secret Key.
4.
To Slow Down the Voice -
Press and release the Start Key.
5.
Release the Secret Key.
6.
Resume Reading.

(Repeat if desired.)
How: See Lesson 2a – Steps 1 thru 5.
How: The Pause Key can be found on the keypad at the Bottom/Right
corner (if the keypad cord is pointing away from you). The
Pause key has a raised pair of vertical lines on it that you can
feel. Press it completely down and quickly release the key. The
Reading of the current page will stop.
How: The Secret Key is located in the very TOP ROW of the keypad
(if the keypad cord is pointing away from you) exactly between
the extra large Mode Key and the smaller Shutdown Key. The
Secret Key has no distinguishing label on it (thereby making it
secret) and performs no function when pressed by itself.
Although other similar looking keys are nearby, only the Secret
key can be pressed down (all other keys are blocked from
movement). Press it completely down and HOLD.
How: The Start Key can be found on the keypad at the Bottom/Left
corner (if the keypad cord is pointing away from you). The
Start key has a raised full circle on it that you can feel. Press it
completely down and quickly release the key. You will hear
the announcement, “Voice Rate – Down.”
How: Release the Secret Key.
How: Pressing the Pause Key quickly releasing the key will resume
the reading of the document at the new rate of speed you have
adjusted to. The Pause Key can be found on the keypad at the
Bottom/Right corner (if the keypad cord is pointing away from
you). The Pause key has a raised pair of vertical lines on it that
you can feel.
How: If desired, Repeat Steps 2 thru 6 (above).
