8. How to Solve Errors
Warning!
As soon as uncontrolled steam
emerges, remove the source of heat.
The device is not to be used again until
the error has been corrected. Only a slight
emergence of steam from pressure control
valve
9 is normal.
Error Cause Solution
Steam is escaping from
between the lid and the base Appliance not closed correctly Close the appliance again
correctly
Sealing ring is dirty Clean the sealing ring
Sealing ring is broken/worn away Replace the sealing ring (1 x year)
No steam is coming from the
pressure control valve Steam is escaping from between
the lid and the base See previous error
pressure control valve is dirty Clean the pressure control valve
(see "7.2 Cleaning the pressure
cooker" on page 26)
Not enough liquid in the
appliance Slowly cool down the appliance
and fill with at least 0.25 l liquid
Heat supply too low Increase the heat supply (turn the
hob to a higher setting)
Too much steam is coming
from the pressure control valve Heat supply too high Decrease the heat supply (turn the
hob to a lower setting)
pressure control valve is dirty Clean the pressure control valve
(see "7.2 Cleaning the pressure
cooker" on page 26)
A lot of steam is escaping from
the side of the pressure control
valve The pressure control valve is not
correctly fitted Fit the pressure control valve
correctly and tighten the union nut
on the inside of the lid using the
key

The lid does not open There is too much pressure in the
appliance Follow the instructions in
"6.4 Opening the pressure cooker"
on page 25
The pressure control valve is
displaying a red ring
underneath the two white rings The pressure in the pan is to high
because the heat input is too great Reduce the heat input (turn the
hotplate down)
The pressure control valve is
soiled, defective or not correctly
fitted Clean the pressure control valve,
check whether it is fitted correctly
or exchange it, if necessary.
