Selecting a Programme Position

Use the

]|

keys to step through the programme

positions, or use the numeric keys to directly enter
the programme position number.

Stand-by

Use the

b

key to switch the receiver to stand-by.

The programme position indications disappear on
the receiver. The red LED for the reception unit A
signals the stand-by mode.
Press one of the

]|

keys to switch the receiver

on again with the last selected programme position
(last station memory), or select the desired pro-
gramme position directly with the numeric keys.
Even when the receiver is in stand-by, you can play
a video cassette or display the menu from the video
recorder on the TV screen. In this case, the signal is
looped through from the video recorder via the SAT
receiver to the TV set. The receiver’s display indi-
cates “

AV

”.

Switching between TV and Radio
Programme Position

Use the blue

g

RADIO

key to switch between the

last selected TV programme position and the last
selected radio programme position. In radio mode
the picture screen is blanked – only the station
name is displayed.

Volume

Use the

x c

keys to adjust the volume to suit your

taste. If the volume is very low, “SAT Mute” is dis-
played on the picture screen.

Displaying the Station Name

Press the

O

key to display the programme type

(TV or radio), the programme position number and
the station name (e.g. for stations without own pro-
gramme logo) on the picture screen. The indica-
tions for the reception unit A appear at the left,
those for the reception unit B at the right.

Stereo/Dual-Channel Sound

Stations with stereo sound broadcast often also
two-channel sound programmes (e.g. German,
English). Use the yellow

j

key to switch between

stereo and the sound channels.
When switching to another programme position,
the previous setting is restored. The setting can
permanently be changed in the menu: see section
“Audio Settings” on the pages 14/15.

Picture and Sound Improvement
(Threshold extension/DX)

The STR 622 TWIN is especially suited for the
reception of very weak signal. This is accomplished
by its integrated three-stage threshold extension
circuit  DX1, DX2, DX3.

Select the desired programme position on recep-
tion unit A and press the

®

DX

key.

The reception unit A is automatically selected. The
settings made apply automatically for both recep-
tion units.

The following menu is displayed:

Use the

x c

keys to select in the first menu line

the setting giving the best picture impression and in
the second line the setting giving the best sound
impression in DX mode.

If the signals are extremely weak, it may happen
that the display is not visible. In this case, press the
green

h

button (green screen background) and

select “DX2” in the first menu line. When pressing
the green

h

button once again, the TV picture

appears on the screen.

Press the

O

key if you wish to save the selected

values.

Press the

¢

TXT

EXIT

key to exit the menu.

If you exit the menu without saving the setting, the
previous values are restored when changing the
programme position.
