Problem
The DVD player will not switch on.
DVD player does not respond to
remote control.
The inserted disc does not play.
Search, repeat functions, etc. do not
work.
CD-Rs or CD-RWs are not played
back, or are played back incorrectly.
You have forgotten the personal code
for parental control.
You cannot operate the DVD player.
Possible cause/remedy
No electricity. Check the power supply unit connection or
the charging status of the battery.
Obstacles, used batteries:
Remove all obstacles which could interfere with the
remote control signal.
Check or replace the remote control battery.
Make sure the printed side of the disc is facing upwards.
Clean the disc. The DVD player cannot read the inserted
disc format. Check to see if the inserted DVD has the
region code 2.
Parental control settings prevent the playback of the disc.
Alter parental control settings (see page 20).
The functions are not available with the inserted disc.
Incorrect software or hardware settings during burning or
the CD itself.
Check the components of your CD burner/software or
change the CD being used.

Unplug the power supply unit for two minutes.
Troubleshooting
Not every picture or sound problem is caused by a defect in your DVD player. Cables that have acci-
dentally been disconnected, damaged discs and flat batteries for the remote control will impair func-
tioning. If the following measures do not rectify the problem, consult your authorised dealer.
Due to the difference in quality of the recording media and the quality of the recording itself, it can
occasionally happen that a home-made disc cannot be read. This does not indicate a malfunction of
the DVD player.
