7.2 Venting the product
Make sure that the pump is immersed and
partly filled with liquid before starting it.
1. Close the isolating valve on the outlet side of the
pump and open the isolating valve on the inlet
side.
2. If the pump is fitted with a vent valve, open the
valve (pos. 1).

3. See the correct direction of rotation of the pump
on the motor fan cover or on the coupling guard.

4. Start the pump and check the direction of
rotation. If the direction of rotation is wrong,
interchange two phases to the motor in the power
supply.
5. Open the isolating valve on the outlet side of the
pump a little.
6. If the pump is fitted with a vent valve, close the
valve when a steady flow of liquid runs out of it.
7. Completely open the isolating valve on the outlet
side of the pump.
The pump has now been vented and is ready for
operation.
8. Servicing the product

Tighten the coupling screws to the cor-
rect torque.

Install the coupling guards securely to
the pump with the screws intended for
this purpose.

Do not use the motor eyebolts to lift the
entire product if the pump is fitted with
a motor of another make than Grund-
fos MG and MGE.
‐
Follow the lifting instructions.
‐
Use lifting equipment which is ap-
proved for the weight of the product.
‐
Persons must keep a safe distance to
the product during lifting operations.
