9. Fault finding
Warning
Before starting work on the product, switch off the power supply. Make sure that the power
supply cannot be accidentally switched on.

1.
Pump does
not run.
No lights on.
a)
Power supply failure.
Switch on power supply.
Check cables and cable
connections for defects and
loose connections.
b)
Fuses blown.
Check cables and cable
connections for defects, and
replace the fuses.
Alarm.
Motor stopped.
Two opposite red
indicator lights flashing
simultaneously.
c)
Sensor is defective.
Replace sensor.
2.
Pump
performance
is unstable.
No lights on.
a)
Pump inlet pressure too
low.
Check the inlet conditions of
the pump.
b)
Suction pipe is partly
blocked by impurities.
Remove and clean suction
pipe.
c)
Leakage in suction
pipe.
Remove and repair suction
pipe.
d)
Air in suction pipe or
pump.
Vent suction pipe or pump.
Check the inlet conditions of
the pump.
3.
Pump has
tried to restart
five times and
is now
stopped.
Alarm.
Motor stopped.
Two opposite red
indicator lights flashing
simultaneously.
a)
Pump inlet pressure too
low.
Check the inlet conditions of
the pump.
b)
Suction pipe is partly
blocked by impurities.
Remove and clean suction
pipe.
c)
The foot or non-return
valve is blocked in
closed position.
Remove and clean, repair or
replace valve.
d)
Leakage in suction
pipe.
Remove and repair the suction
pipe.
e)
Air in suction pipe or
pump.
Vent suction pipe or pump.
Check the inlet conditions of
the pump.
4.
Pump runs
backwards
when
switched off.
No lights on.
a)
Leakage in suction
pipe.
Remove and repair suction
pipe.
b)
Foot or non-return valve
defective.
Remove and clean, repair or
replace valve.
c)
Foot valve is blocked in
completely or partly
open position.
Remove and clean, repair or
replace valve.
