Assemble Frame
FRAME ASSEMBLY
Use the diagrams and information that follows to assemble
the main frame.
ATTENTION:
Rafters are heavy.
Move rafter with assistance or using a small lift to prevent damage and injury.
Determine best way to move rafters into
position and to set them onto each set of ground posts.
Do not set rafters into position until ground post concrete has set (if applicable).
Gather parts:
• Assembled rafters, 102856 end clamps, & 102548 cross connectors
• FAG336B (5/16” x 2-1/2”) bolts & FALB02B (5/16”) nuts
• 1.315" Pipe: 131S075 & 131P0xxx (where x represent length of last pipe)
Complete these steps:
1. Slide one end clamp (102856) onto each end of a rafter as shown in detail
above and in Quick Start diagrams.
2. Set first end rafter in place and anchor to ground posts using 5/16" bolts
and nuts. Add braces for support if needed or have an assistant hold until
next rafter is added and connected with purlins.
3. Set next rafter in place and secure using 5/16" bolts and nuts.
ATTENTION:
Only the two end rafters use 102856 end clamps as shown.
All interior rafters use 102548 cross connectors to secure purlins to rafters.
See details in Quick Start section for additional diagrams.
4. Using side profile diagram in Quick Start section for your building length,
attach first purlin pipe on each side between the two rafters.
Do not
tighten clamps at this time.
5. Add next rafter and connect using next purlin pipe. See side profile
diagram for pipe identification.
NOTE:
Set purlin height on each side just below rafter bend as shown in
diagrams. Purlin runs should be at same location on each side of frame.
For accuracy, stretch a string line end-to-end to keep purlins aligned. See
diagram above.
6. Check on-center spacing of rafters before clamps are tightened.
7. Using a long level or the string line (if present), ensure purlin pipes are
level and tighten cross connectors and end clamps.
