Model G9983 (Mfg. Since 8/09)
-23-
the Model g9983 takes 16"W x 48"l sanding
belts.
the grit you choose will depend on the type of
work, the species of wood and the stage of fin-
ishing. below is a chart that groups abrasives
into different classes and shows which grits fall
into each class. We recommend using aluminum
oxide for best results.
the general rule of thumb is to sand a workpiece
with progressively higher grit numbers, with no
one grit increase of more than 50.
ultimately, the type of wood you use and your
stage of finish will determine the best grit types to
install on your sander.
