G0592 Metal Cutting Bandsaw
Blade Change
Blades should be changed when they become
dull, damaged, or when you are using materials
that require a blade of a certain type or tooth
count.
To change the blade on the bandsaw:
1.
DISCONNECT THE BANDSAW FROM
POWER!
2.
Raise the bow of the bandsaw to the highest
position, close the feed control knob, and
remove the wheel access cover.
3.
Slide the blade guard all the way down as
shown in
Figure 41.

Remove the blade guard and wire wheel from
the front of the bandsaw as shown in
Figure
42
.

Loosen the blade tension handle in
Figure 41
and slip the blade off of the wheels.
6.
Install the new blade through both blade
guide bearings, as shown in
Figure 43
,
and
around the bottom wheel.
CUTTING HAZARD! Blades are sharp!
Wear heavy leather gloves when handling
blades to prevent cuts.

7.
Hold the blade around the bottom wheel with
one hand and slip it around the top wheel with
the other hand, keeping the blade between
the blade guide bearings.
