BATTERY CHECK
1. Plug the black test lead into the COM input terminal, and plug the red test lead into the
V/
Ω
input terminal.
2. Set selector switch to the appropriate range.
Note: To measure the voltage of a 1.5-volt battery, set the range selector to BAT 1.5V.
To measure the voltage of a 9-volt battery, set the range selector to BAT 9V.
3. Touch the red test probe to the positive (+) terminal of the battery, and touch the black test
probe to the negative (–) terminal of the battery.
4. Read the display.
Note: The voltage on the display is the voltage of the battery under load. The load current
for the 9 V battery is approximately 20 mA. The load current for a 1.5 V battery is
approximately 40 mA. The display value corresponds with the battery’s residual voltage.
