Polarity Testing
1.
Connect the test set to the line to be tested.
2.
Press POL.
• The red LED indicates reversed polarity (the red line is connected to the tip [+]).
• The green LED indicates correct polarity (the red line is connected to the ring [–]).
Ground Start Operation
1.
Use the polarity testing procedure to determine which wire is the tip. Connect the test set
to the line with correct polarity.
2.
Press and hold the TALK button. Momentarily connect tip to ground.
3.
After hearing the dial tone, disconnect the ground.
