Using the remote control

Starting and stopping recordings

Press the Record/ESC key once to start recording, then again to stop recording and save the file. If a
recording was prompted by motion detection, you can press the Record/ESC key to stop recording
before 30 seconds have passed.

Changing recording mode

Press ‘Rec mode’ on the remote. When the recorder is in motion detection mode, a green bird

icon

is displayed in the top right corner. For continuous recording mode, a red hand icon is displayed.

Setting time and date

Press the Time/Date button to open the Time/Date setting menu. Press the right direction/skip
forward button to change which part of the time or date you are selecting. Use the up and down
buttons to increase or decrease the currently selected number.

Press the Record/ESC button to exit the menu. To save your changes, press the Play/Pause button.
You do not need to select the RESET or SET buttons to save your changes. The three numbers listed
below the time/date in this menu are the times when the recorder is set to automatically restart.
This feature reduces the risk of failure caused by the recorder continuously operating over long
periods of time.

Formatting the SD card

When the recorder is turned on, it may display a message with the option to format the micro SD
card. This is only required the first time the micro SD card is inserted in the recorder. Press
Record/ESC to close the message.

To format the micro SD card,

hold down the ‘Output’ button to show this prompt again. Select

‘Confirm’ to format or ‘Cancel’ to return.

Exporting and viewing recordings

Exporting directly from the recorder

To export footage stored on the recorder without removing the micro SD card, connect the recorder
to a computer using a micro USB cable. If you have connected an HDMI cable to the recorder, this
must be disconnected first.

Exporting from the SD card

To export recordings from the micro SD card, remove the card from the recorder and connect it to
your PC using a card reader.

Viewing your recordings

We recommend using VLC media player to view your recordings. VLC is a free, open-source media
player produced by VideoLAN, an established non-profit organisation. It can be downloaded here:
