Tools required:
• Socket Wrench, 1/2", 3/4", 15/16", and 1-5/16" socket or
combination wrenches
• Tire Gauge
Unpack Unit
Remove unit and all other components from the shipping
container.
Assemble and Install Deck
NOTE:
To install the deck and connect the lift cylinder, you
will use hardware that ships with the Promaster 320 as well
as hardware that ships with the deck. Make sure you have
all hardware available when assembling and installing the
deck.
Park unit on level surface, engage parking brake, shut off
engine, and remove ignition key.
Install the Carrier Frame
NOTE:
Install the carrier frame to the PM320 first, and then
connect the deck to the carrier frame. The mass of the two
pieces makes it very difficult to install them together.
1. Remove the mower deck cover from the carrier frame
and the left belt cover from the deck.
2. Remove lift cylinder from shipping position on front of
Promaster 320. Save the 1/2" x 4" bolt, 1/2" washer,
spacer and 1/2" nut for reinstallation. See Figure 7.
3. Attach the carrier frame to the unit with 5/8" mounting
hardware (figure 3).
NOTE:
Removing drive wheels from Promaster 320 will
make installation easier.
To Install the Deck
1. Install the PTO belt on idler pulleys and blade spindle
pulleys. See Figure 4.
2. Position the deck under the carrier frame so the mount
arms align with the holes in the carrier frame and then
connect the mount arms to the carrier frame with two
5/8" x 5-1/2" hex bolts, two 5/8" flat steel washers, and
two 5/8"-9 center lock nuts.
