Profile Video File Server Installation
2-27
NOTE: Disk-based SCSI storage devices attached to the Profile Video File Server,
such as the PDX218 or PRS250, must be configured using the Profile Disk Utility
before they can be used as part of the system. See “Using the Profile Disk Utility”
in the Profile Family User Manual.
See Figure 2-21 through Figure 2-25 for examples of Grass Valley Group SCSI
devices that can be connected to the SCSI connectors on the Master and Slave EDR
boards.
Figure 2-21. Example 1: Connecting a PDX218 Disk Expansion Chassis
Example 1 (Figure 2-21) shows disk expansion of a Profile system equipped with
Master and Slave EDR boards. In this example, the PDX 218 Disk Expansion chassis
provides four hard disk drives to the SCSI A bus of the Master EDR and four hard
disk drives to the SCSI C bus of the Slave EDR.
NOTE: This example requires attachment of SCSI Terminators to the unused SCSI
connectors on the PDX 218 as shown in Figure 2-21.
