Operating instruction Granit N2000 / N2000C
in connection with SAFETY HINTS ELECTRIC FENCER
Installation and connection:
The installation is to be made at a location protected from weather and where there is no risk of fire.
The energizer must be mounted in a vertical position.
The earth stake must be inserted into the ground as deep as possible at a moist place and connected
to the earth terminal
on the energizer.
Connect the fence connection cable to the fence terminal (
or ).
To prevent damages by lightnings the connection lead to the building, prior to entering the buil-
ding, must have a grounded lightning gap.
Operation and control N2000:
Plug the mains cable in a 230 V supply socket. After a few seconds a slight tic-tac can be heard. The
control lamp flashes with the pulses and the energizer operates properly. If this lamp is not illuminated
the energizer or the fence system is faulty.
Operation and control N2000C:
Plug the mains cable in a 230 V supply socket. After a few seconds a slight tic-tac can be heard. The
fence voltage level flashes with the pulses. The 8 controll lamps indicate the fence voltage.
At least 3 lamps should flash to ensure sufficient voltage and fencing.
Possible reasons, when the voltage is too low:
a) with fence: heavy vegetation on the fence, insulator flash-over or fence too long.
b) without fence: the energizer is faulty, see service.
The energizer has two fence terminals
(Z1) = max output (Z2) = reduced output
Both outlets can operate separate fences at the same time. A short in the Z2 fence has no strong
influence on Z1 but a short or a deviation in Z1 means a further reduction of Z2.
By operating with two fence systems ( Z1 + Z2 ) the indication lamps show the reduced output only.
Earthing:
For a faultless operation and to obtain best possible output a good grounding is very important. There-
fore the grounding must be made at a rather moist and overgrown place.
3 or 4 pcs of 1 m earth stakes shall be used. With long fences and on dry soil a ground return wire with
intermediate groundings (every 50 m) is necessary. The distance between the system earth and the
protective and system earth of the supply net work shall be at least 10 m.
Service:
Servicing is only to be made by qualified service personell. Only by the manufacturer com-
manded replacement parts must be used. If the supply cord of this energizer is damaged this
cord must be replaced by a special supply cord which is recommended by the manufacturer.
