SAFETY EQUIPMENT
The owner/operator is responsible for ensuring that appropriate safety equipment is onboard and
is in proper working condition. The type of safety equipment and quantity will depend on the
conditions expected and length of trip.
The type of safety equipment required will depend on local or national regulations. In most
countries, safety equipment of the following type is required:
Emergency Engine Kill Switch Lanyard.
Personal Flotation Devices (PFD).
Horn or Whistle.
A manual bailing device for removing water from the boat (bucket, hand pump).
Visual Distress Signals.
