Beginner’s user guide
Note: ensure your pet is properly hydrated before, during and after exercising. Consult your veterinarian as to how
much water to provide your pet.
Pet, sooth, and encourage your pet before it exercises. Continue to provide positive reinforcement during exercise.
Walk your pet onto the treadmill and let it walk directly over the front. Do this a few times – pausing for a few
seconds each time, encouraging your pet. Then walk your pet onto the belt allow it to stand a little longer.
Once your pet is comfortable on the treadmill, turn the power on, walk your pet onto the treadmill and stand
beside it as if you were taking it for a walk. Begin to speed the treadmill up, slowly at first, encouraging your dog
to come along. Gradually increase the speed of the treadmill while standing next to your pet until it has a natural
gait.
Be sure to use a slow speed at the beginning and then increase the speed after your dog gets used to the movement.
Once your pet is comfortably running without any tension on its leash you can remove its leash.
Don’t stop the treadmill suddenly when the dog is finished, speed down slowly and let your dog have enough time
