SMARTWELD RECORD
BRIEF INSTRUCTION
This brief instruction does not replace the knowledge and following the complete
original operating instructions and the work instruction of the applied THERMIT
®
welding process. It is intended to give operating personnel an overview of the
commissioning and start procedure for the device.
If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact your local Goldschmidt
Thermit Group sales company. The operator has a duty to provide sufficient personal
protective equipment (PPE) for the operating personnel.
Before initial start-up, ensure:
» Batteries of the SMARTWELD RECORD are completely charged, charging option
via the micro USB interface , battery status is displayed when connected to the
SMARTWELD APP
» GOLDSCHMIDT DIGITAL APP and the SMARTWELD APP are installed on your
smartphone or tablet
» Download at the Google Play Store
In addition, the following is needed for proper operation:
» Operating instructions for SMARTWELD RECORD, SMARTWELD APP and
autogenous devices

» Available from the manufacturer
» Work instruction for the applied THERMIT
®
welding process
» Available from the manufacturer
Commissioning:
» Check SMARTWELD RECORD and its components for signs of damage.
» Status of the SMARTWELD RECORD can be checked using the LED lamps .
» Check that all threaded connections and seals are clean and undamaged.
» The connection of hoses and selection of suitable preheating burner insert
for the SMARTWELD RECORD must be carried out in accordance with the
operating instructions for autogenous devices and the THERMIT
®
welding
process.
» Briefly press the button to start up the SMARTWELD RECORD. Press and
hold the button for several seconds to switch off the device.
» Launch the SMARTWELD APP and proceed with the working steps as set out in
the SMARTWELD APP operating instructions.
LED lamp
Description
Lit in blue
Bluetooth connection is established between the
SMARTWELD RECORD and the SMARTWELD APP.
Lit in green
The charging cable is connected.
Flashing red
The SMARTWELD RECORD is switched on.
Bluetooth connection between the SMARTWELD RECORD
and the SMARTWELD APP is not yet established.
Lit in red
The Batteries are almost empty. Connect the charging
cable and charge the SMARTWELD RECORD.
Danger! Ensure that all parts coming into contact with oxygen are free of
oil and grease! Danger of explosion!
When installing the burner insert on the SMARTWELD RECORD, ensure
the parts and seals are clean and undamaged. The terminal nut on the
torch insert should be tightened by hand. If necessary, a key can be used.
Use in combination with competitor products is not permitted.
The SMARTWELD RECORD must always be operated in technically perfect
condition. If the SMARTWELD RECORD is not in perfect condition, restore
normal condition and/or inform the authorised service partner.
