Safety instructions (Explana-
tion of the pictograms)
I
Before initial operation read and observe operating
instructions and safety information!
Observe the instructions of the manufacturer of the
spraying agent!
II
Wear protection gloves if necessary!
III
Wear protection clothes if necessary!
IV
Wear protective mask if necessary!
V
Only use watery spraying agents!
VI
Never direct the spray jet at persons or animals!
VII
Do not fill in burning or explosive substances like
oil, patrol or diluting agents!
Installation
Put the two carrying straps on top of one another. Now
run an end of the carrying strap through the opening in the
handle and then put the other strap up over the handle.
Depending on the desired position of the pump lever (left or
right handoperation), the two ends of the straps can be
attached at the front or rear of the unit. The pump lever
should be on the left for right-handed users.
Pull both ends together through the adjuster and then
push the adjuster until just short of the handle.
Now pull the 2nd adjuster onto one of the strap ends.
Then push the adjuster back approx. 25 cm from the strap end.
Next run the strap end through the eye on the container
base. Then pull the strap end through the adjuster.
Note!
Then perform steps
and
for the other side as well.
By pushing the adjuster the carrying straps can be lengthened
or shortened and as a result optimally adjusted to your body
size.
Loosen the locking not from the trigger control valve and
put it onto the hose assembly. Push the hose completely onto
the connecting spout at the trigger control valve and screw it
tight to the locking nut. Screw the spray lance to the trigger con-
trol valve.
Push the hose completely onto the connecting spout at
the pump housing and screw it tight to the locking nut.
Initial operation
Please check at least at the beginning of every spraying season
whether the output of the sprayer (l/min) still corresponds
with the indicted values! Observe the advice of the manufac-
turer of the spraying agent!
G
Remove the tank lid and fill up the unit with the filler
funnel.
G
Warning!
Do not exceed the maximum filling level (see the
Technical Data). Follow any points concerning safety regula-
tions and permitted substances. Check the filling level. Follow
the details given by the manufacturer of the spraying substance!
G
Close the tank by replacing the tank lid.
G
Put the spray unit on your back. Adjust the straps to the
right length.
Spraying
G
Operate the pump lever five or six times from top to bot-
tom. This will fill the air chamber and the spray line with
spraying agent and produces the working pressure required
for spraying.
G
Press down the operating lever on the quick-acting valve to
start spraying. Spraying stops at once if you release the
operating lever.
G
Optimum spray pressure is at 2.5 bar, which you reach with
approx. 8 pump strokes per minute.
G
Aim to achieve even coverage of the object when spraying.
G
Be aware of the direction of the wind. Do not spray into the
wind.
The optimum distance from the nozzle to the object
being sprayed is 40-50 cm.
Emptying and Maintenance
G
Thoroughly clean out the unit with water each time after it
has been used (rinse it out several times) and leave it open
to dry out.
G
Cleaning of the strainer tube in the quick-acting valve:
Loosen the locking nut from the trigger control valve and take
the hose nozzle with sieve from the trigger control valve.
G
The gasket in the cover of the container and all other
mobile parts have to be lubricated regularly with resin and
acid-free grease, item number 728761.
G
The use of GLORlA cleaning agent for sprayers, Item No.
1100.0000, is recommended in order to achieve an opti-
mum cleaning of the sprayers and safe neutralisation of the
spray remnants and residues.
