Inspect the head castings and ensure:
6.1 There are no signs of damage or cracks. Pay
particular attention to possible hair-line cracks.
6.2 The legs open and close smoothly and the
locating pin holes align correctly.
7.
Inspect the head locking pin and ensure:
7.1 It is in good condition with no signs of damage.
7.2 No damage to the captive wire.
8.
Inspect the pulleys and ensure:
8.1 There are no signs of damage, wear, or cracks.
8.2 They operate and rotate smoothly.
9.
Inspect the identity label and ensure that it is present
and fully legible.
Service
10. Any faulty components should be replaced or rectified.
11.
Reassemble the tripod. Where necessary, clean,
lubricate and/or adjust the component parts.
12. Stand the assembled tripod up, fold open the legs.
The legs must move freely. Line up the locating holes
and insert the locking pin. Make any final adjustments
as
necessary.
