Filter Cartridges Installation:
The reverse osmosis system is equipped with three pre-filter housings.
Lubricate the O-rings on the housings with petroleum jelly or an oil before inserting the cartridges.
This will make it easier to seal the housings watertight and to unscrew them later.
Insert the cartridges in the following order:
1. Polypropylene foam cartridge, 5-micron, model GW-PS5-10 (water supply – transparent housing)
2. Polypropylene foam cartridge, 1-micron, model GW-PS1-10.
3. Carbon Cartridge, model GW-BL-10
After inserting the cartridges and tightening the housings, unplug the hose from the last housing and
flush the cartridges with water. To do this, for a while attach the red drain hose and flush the cartridges
for 3-5 minutes.
After flushing the pre-filter cartridges, bring the tubing back to its original setting.
Checking Connections for Leakages:
After performing the above installation steps, check the tightness of the connections, by slowly turning
on the water supply line valve to the reverse osmosis system and connecting the pump to power supply.
If the system is watertight, turn on the valve completely and leave it in this position permanently.
If you notice a water leak:
– Check if all plastic fittings (elbows, tees) are screwed in tightly and sealed with Teflon Tape
– Do not use other sealants (e.g. plumbing hemp or flax).
– Notice, that unevenly cut or partially unplugged hose can cause leakage.
Start-up:
After about 1 hour of operation of the system, turn on the filter tap and drain all the water from the
tank. This will allow you to flush the in-line cartridges and the tank.
When the tank is filled again with clean water, the unit is ready for regular operation.
The time needed for the tank to be filled up can be up to 1 hour.
Waste water draining during tank filling indicates correct operation of the unit.
The pressure booster pump turns off automatically when the tank is filled with clean water.
System Operation Test:
1.
Turn off the tank valve. Don't take water through the filter tap.
2.
After 2-3 minutes or so the pump should switch off itself.
3.
