Installation activities
4.1
Pre-installation activities
1.
Verify the capability of the robot to work on the garden:
a.
Garden dimension
b.
Slopes
c.
Secondary areas
d.
Capability to reach secondary areas
e.
Etc…
2.
Adjust the garden, if necessary. Common problems are small holes, stones, little toys and in general
all the objects smaller than 9cm that are not identified as bumps by the robot.
3.
Check the grass height is compliant with robot cutting height. The robot shall not cut more
than 0.5cm of grass. If necessary, cut the garden with a standard lawn mower to adjust grass
height. In case of use of a robot with adjustable cutting height, set it to meet the above
requirement (maximum 0.5cm cutting). Cutting height can then be lowered over the time.
4.
Recharge the robot. It will be useful at the end of installation in order to perform some verifications.
4.2
Post-installation activities
1.
Verify charger and transmitter proper functioning
2.
Measure wire impedance (ohm) and verify that the measured value is in accordance with nominal
ones provided in the “Diagnostic” document. This measure is very important since it will allow to
perform evaluations about the status of the wire in the future
3.
Measure the impedance between the wire and the ground (see document “Diagnostic”) in order to
verify proper insulation of the wire
4.
Set-up the robot (work time, secondary area, etc…)
5.
Set the password together with the customer
6.
Set cutting height. If the wire has been installed over ground, leave the cutting height at about 5-6cm
and inform the customer that he can eventually lower when the wire will be absorbed by the garden
7.
Evaluate the need of optional components installation, for example clawed wheels (they should not
be installed if the wire has not been installed underground)
8.
Perform a certification of the installation. Verify at least the following:
a.
Wire following on complete installation
