Installation Tip!
Route sensor and interconnect cable, if
used, in 1/2-inch, grounded metal conduit to protect them
from moisture, electrical noise, and mechanical damage.
NOTE:
Do not route sensor or interconnect cable in any
conduit containing AC power wiring (“electrical
noise” may interfere with the sensor signal).
Refer to Figure 2-3 and connect sensor cable wires to
“SENSOR” terminals on TB1, matching colors as indicated.
Connect a DC power supply capable of providing 18 to 36
VDC and up to 170 mA to the “SUPPLY VOLTAGE” termi-
nals on TB2, matching polarity as indicated.
A load device such as a recorder or remote display can be
connected to the flowmeter at the “4-20 mA” terminals on
TB2, matching polarity as shown in Figure 2-3.
The maximum load (in ohms) that can be driven is dependent
on the power supply voltage. Calculate the maximum allowable
load using this equation:
Load (in ohms) = (Power Supply VDC - 5) x 50
Example: Suppose the power supply voltage is 24 VDC.
Then,
Load (in ohms) = (24 - 5) x 50
Load (in ohms) = (19) x 50
Load (in ohms) = 950
When the Model 677F is equipped with the optional 6-digit
resetting totalizer, a remote reset switch can be used to re-
set the totalizer count to zero. Connect a normally open
switch to the “LO” and “RESET” terminals on TB2. This
connection is not polarity dependent.
