3.2
PUMP PERFORMANCE
The performance of Grundfos UPS 15-50 and UPS
15-60 pumps fitted in the appliances are shown
in figures 3.3 and 3.4 respectively. The maximum
performance of the modulating pumps (UPR
range) is the same as the UPS range set at speed
3. As these pumps modulate their performance
characteristics change downwards the same
as setting lower speeds for non-modulating
standard pumps.
The resistance of the 3-port flow share valve, and
the mCHP unit should be taken into account
when sizing the pipework for central heating
and boiler circuits.
3.3
HOT WATER
PERFORMANCE
Although the mCHP BoilerMate
A-CLASS
will operate
at mains inlet pressure as low as 1 bar and as
high as 5 bar; the preferred range is 2 – 3 bar
dynamic.
Typical hot water performance of the appliance is
shown in figure 3.5. The performance comparison
is shown for continuous hot water draw-off at 18
l/min when the store is charged to nominal 77
o
C
and the cold water inlet temperature is 10
o
C. Also
during the draw-off it is assumed that there is no
heat input from the mCHP unit.
