IMPORTANT
Since the sun action weakens all plastic materials after some time, we recommend
you to buy a new flight helmet at least every three years. If you use it quite often,
you might need to change it more frequently. The flight helmet MUST be replaced
after a crash!!!
How To Adjust Your Flight Helmet
Your flight helmet has a buckle which has been designed to grant you the highest
comfort while wearing it. It is extremely important to wear the flight helmet
correctly so that it fits your head perfectly, as well as to fasten it making sure
that the strap is tite - but not too much -adherent to the chin-strap. How the flight
helmet should be positioned on the head to ensure the intended protection (it
should be placed so as to protect the forehead and not to be pushed too far back
over the back of the head). To verify whether the helmet is correctly put on and
fastened, try to take it off using both of your hands. The flight helmet should hardly
move on your head!
IMPORTANT
It is dangerous to fly with a badly fastened helmet! The Velcro tape that you may
find fixed to the strap is NOT meant to fasten the helmet but only to avoid the strap
flapping in the wind. Make sure that the buckle is not damaged and is working well.
Approved To Grant Safety
Flight helmets respond to the strict European safety standard EN 966. The
materials with which they are made are top quality; this grants you top comfort and
the highest protection according to the parameters of use. However no flight helmet
can possibly protect you from every kind of accident which may occur while flying.
In particular, the helmet cannot protect the uncovered parts like the nape and the
face. Some head shocks, even though they are not particularly strong, might cause
head injuries. We therefore recommend:
- Fly carefully and according to your ability.
- Use your Helmet only to fly; avoid any other use.
If you do not accept the degree of protection that your helmet can grant you, do
not use it: give it back to the retailer who sold it to you and he will refund you fully.
To use a flight helmet implies that you know and accept the warnings and the limits
outlined in this leaflet.
