show the
current settings that the phone obtained from the router. These settings cannot
be changed.
For
IP addr. type Static
:
You must manually define the IP address and the subnet mask for the phone as
well as the default gateway and DNS server in the following fields.
For
IP addr. type Static:
IP address (1/2)
Enter the first two components of the IP address that is to be assigned to the
phone (overwriting the current settings).
The default is 192.168.
For information on the IP address, see the glossary
IP address (2/2)
Enter the last two components of the IP address (overwriting the current set-
tings).
The default is 001.002.
Subnet mask (1/2), Subnet mask (2/2)
Enter the subnet mask to be assigned to the phone (overwriting the current set-
tings).
The default setting is 255.255.255.0

Default gateway (1/2), Default gateway (2/2)
Enter the IP address for the default gateway
through which the
local network is connected to the Internet. This is generally the local (private) IP
address for your router (e.g., 192.168.1.1). Your phone requires this information
to be able to access the Internet.
The default is 192.168.1.1.
DNS server (1/2), DNS server (2/2)
Enter the IP address for the preferred DNS server. The DNS server (Domain Name
System,
) converts the symbolic name of a server (DNS name) into
the public IP address for the server when the connection is made.
You can specify your router's IP address here. The router forwards phone address
requests to its DNS server.
The default is 192.168.1.1.
