13. INSPECTING ASSEMBLY FOR ERRORS
CAUTION:
In order to guarantee the perfect operation of the machine, the
maintenance of its performance over time, and the safety of persons and property,
it must be installed in a state-of-the-art way, therefore the following post-installation
checks are necessary.
•
Check that the window is perfectly closed, including at the corners, and that there are no
impediments due to incorrect assembly positions.
•
Check the alignment of the actuator with the sash bracket; if out of line, the rack requires
a large amount of energy to slide.
•
Make sure that when the window is closed, the sash bracket is at least 5 mm away from
the actuator body. This guarantees that the window is securely closed and the seals are
properly compressed. Otherwise, there is no certainty that the window is completely
closed.
•
Also check that the supporting brackets and connections are aligned with each other and
rigidly mounted on the window and the screws are correctly tightened. Self-threaded or
self-tapping screws should not be used on aluminum frames because they could tear the
profile after just a few opening-closing cycles; use metric screws with threaded inserts
(see guidance in § 10.1)
.
•
Check that the power supply cable does not prevent the actuator from rotating and that it
does not obstruct operation; the safety of persons and property depends on this.
•
Check that the window reaches the required position, on the basis of the limit position
selected.
14. EMERGENCY OPERATION AND OPENING FOR MAINTENANCE
OR CLEANING
If the window has to be opened by hand due to an electrical power failure or a mechanism
malfunction, or for routine window maintenance and external cleaning, carry out the following
operations:
1. Unscrew the nut from the pivot screw that fixes the rack to the sash bracket.
2. Hold the window with one hand and with the other extract the pivot screw from the
hole
(it is advisable to perform this operation with the window open for at least 10 cm;
it will be easier to extract the screw)
.
3. Open the window by hand.
