EXHAUST INSTALLATION
WHEN INSTALLING THIS EXHAUST SYSTEM MAKE SURE TO USE ALL THE
PROPER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS. USE JACK STANDS WHEN UNDER TRUCK, SET
PARKING BRAKE, BLOCK TIRES AND USE SAFETY GLASSES. DO NOT WORK
WITH HOT PIPES!
SUGGESTED TOOLS:
9/16” SOCKET, ½” WRENCH, ½” SOCKET, JACK STAND, 15mm
SOCKET,Hacksaw
1.
Lay out the GIBSON EXHAUST SYSTEM on the floor so it looks like the
drawing (NOTE: Drawing is not exact but for placement of parts only.)
2.
Unclamp and remove stock muffler at the front inlet and take stock hangers
out of grommets and remove stock exhaust and tailpipe. (You may need to cut
tailpipe for easy removal)
3.
Install muffler # A to headpipe using #D clamp. (Do not tighten) Rear outlet of
muffler will be at approx. 7:30. Use jack stand to support muffler. Muffler inlet
should be looking into the louvers.
4.
Install rear #F O.E. hanger then tailpipe “B” (make sure there is 1” clearance
between shock and tailpipe).
5.
Install tailpipe “B” to muffler using clamp #E.
6.
Install turnout pipe #C, and connect to tailpipe using clamp # E. Rotate pipe until
it’s at the correct angle for your vehicle.
7.
Slip stainless steel tip on and tighten.
8.
When you have everyting in place, firmly tighten all bolts and clamp down.
SPECIAL NOTES:
* MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A 1” CLEARANCE ON ALL PIPES FROM ALL
RUBBER BRAKE LINES, SHOCK BOOTS, TIRES, ETC.

THE GIBSON “CAT-BACK” SYSTEM IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH VC27156 WHEN INSTALLED BEHIND
THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. NO EXEMPTION NUMBER IS NEEDED.
