1. Close the untreated water addition (4) - with DN 40 / DN 50 the volume-controlled untreated water
addition (7) as well. Fully open bypass (5) and shut-off valve (6).
2. Determine water hardness at 1 LU (0.1 l / s), ideally close to the JRG bypass mixing valve.
3. Open the untreated water addition (4) by turning the spanner 270°.
4. Now determine water hardness once again.
5. If further adjustments are necessary, we recommend adjusting the untreated water addition (4)
in small steps (about 10° turn of the spanner each) and to subsequently re-examine water
hardness. Flush the line before each water hardness test. You are now done with the adjustment
of JRG bypass mixing valves DN 25 / DN 32. For JRG bypass mixing valves DN 40 / DN 50, perform
the additional steps below:
6. After setting water hardness, fully open the volume-controlled untreated water addition (7) using
a square socket spanner (
6 mm).
7. If a limitation of the volume-controlled untreated water addition is desired, adjust in large steps
(about 180° turn of the spanner each). Check the selected settings with large volume flows and
adjust if necessary.
8. Finally, lock the setting with an open-end wrench (
17 mm).
The example given is subject to various types of descaling devices and the water hardness
as provided by the local utility company. Adapt the settings and the setting procedure accor-
dingly. When opening the volume-controlled addition (7) with sizes DN 40 / DN 50, a deviation
of water hardness is to be expected due to the increased volume flow.
