Manual screw-off of the blind rivet nut
•
If, for example, the blind rivet nut is screwed in at an oblique angle or if the thread of the
blind rivet nut is faulty, the blind rivet nut will not be correctly fitted to the nosepiece after
screwing in. In such cases, the blind rivet nut has to be manually unscrewed again and
changed. You are advised to stop using a blind rivet nut if it is damaged.
•
If considerably too high setting stroke has been selected for a nut size (wrong setting!),
a strong deformation of the blind rivet nut and the nut thread can occur, which leads to
extremely high drill-off forces. This can lead to the fact that the mandrel cannot be twisted
out with the FireBird
®
Pro S (GE) and the tool switches off due to overload. The overload
is indicated by rapid flashing of the lighting ring. In such cases the battery should be
removed. The mandrel must then be unscrewed by hand, To do this, insert the enclosed
hexagon screwdriver WAF 4 into the hexagon socket at the rear end of the device and
carefully loosen the mandrel (A) by turning it anti-clockwise (see Fig. 5).
•
After screwing off the deformed nuts, the battery is reinserted. Press and release switch
(G) to revert the tool slowly to the front end position in a slow reference run.
•
CAUTION: Set the correct setting stroke now (see Section 3.3).
4.3
Setting a blind rivet nut
•
Insert the correctly fitted nut as far as it will go into the hole of the workpiece using the
riveting tool.
•
Start the setting sequence by pressing switch (G).
•
CAUTION: The switch does not need to be held. This ensures that the selected setting
stroke is always reached, regardless of the way the machine is operated.

Lighting
The blind rivet setting tool is equipped with 3 LED lights to illuminate the work space. These
can be turned on by turning the black ring behind the LEDs. There are 3 settings, which are
displayed by an arrow cast in the housing.
— Continuous light / torch function:
The lighting is switched on after a riveting sequence and stays on for ap-
prox. 10 minutes. The LEDs then turn off automatically.
Zero position:
Ligths switched off.
-- Work light:
Lights are switched on at the start of the riveting sequence. The LEDs
stay on for about 10 seconds and then switch off automatically.
