5.4 Remote Monitoring with Mobile Phones
Using a PDA and Smartphone, you can receive live video from the GV-Video Server. The
GV application GView supports the PDA using Windows CE or Microsoft Pocket PC
operating system. The other application MSView supports Microsoft Smartphone edition
2002 and 2003.
To install the GView and MSView in your mobile phone, see “Remote Viewing with PDA”
and “Remote Viewing with Mobile Phone,” Chapter 6, User’s Manual on the Surveillance
System Software CD.
Connecting to GV-Video Server
To enable connecting your mobile phone to the GV-Video Server, configure the GV-Video
Server first and then the mobile phone:
1. On the web configuration page of GV-Video Server, click
Video and Motion
and
select
Video Settings
. The Video Settings page appears.
2.
In the Quickly Settings By Connection Type field, select
GView Supported
to connect
to a PDA or
3GPP Supported
to connect to a Microsoft Smartphone.
3. Click
Apply
to activate the remote viewing function.
4. In the mobile phone, enter the GV-Video Server’s IP address or domain name, port
number, user name and password to enable connecting to the GV-Video Server.

Note:
The default port setting is 10000. The port should match the VSS Port on the GV-
Video Server.
