6 Tips and tricks
Some foods, such as carrots or beetroot, can stain the plastic. You can reduce the staining by applying
vegetable oil with a cloth.
When you’re processing dough the flour or other ingredients sometimes stick to the wall of the bowl.
When this happens, switch off the appliance, open the lid, and scrape the ingredients off the wall of the
bowl with the spatula (19). Then switch it back on.
For optimum grating or cutting results with soft foods, place them in the refrigerator freezer
compartment for a few minutes before processing. NOTE: They should not be left in long enough to
become frozen.
To chop leaves with the cutting discs (e.g. spinach) form them into a pile first. Then roll up the pile of
leaves firmly and insert it vertically through the feeder (1).
Thin vegetables (e.g. carrots, spring onions) can easily fall over in the feeder when you are grating
them. We recommend that you cut them into several pieces and put them in the feeder (with the
appliance switched off) in bunches. Always use the pusher (3) to push them down!
To chop fresh herbs insert them in the feeder (1) with the appliance switched on. For optimum results,
ensure that the bowl and herbs are dry before processing them.
To whip egg whites, cream, mousse and similar foods remove the pusher (3) from the feeder (1) when
you have switched on the appliance to achieve a nice, light consistency.
Additional ingredients and liquids are easily added through the feeder (1) while the appliance is on. To
control the added liquid, e.g. when making mayonnaise, insert the pusher with aroma holes and pour
the liquid through the pusher. The aroma holes add the liquid to the mixture in a controlled way.
