CHAPTER 1 – INTRODUCTION

1. PURPOSE

This manual provides a description of the Genesys Aerosystems (Genesys) Digital Radio
(GDR) series installation in an aircraft. The GDR can be used for new or retrofit
installations. The most recent version of this installation manual is always located online
at www.genesys-aerosystems.com under the “DealerLink” tab.

NOTE: “The conditions and tests required for TSO approval of this article are minimum
performance standards. It is the responsibility of those desiring to install this article either
on or within a specific type or class of aircraft to determine that the aircraft installation
conditions are within the TSO standards. If not within the TSO standards, the article may
be installed only if further evaluation by the applicant documents an acceptable installation
and is approved by the Administrator.”

CAUTION:

These instructions are intended for use by installers familiar with standard

aircraft avionics practices and methods of installation. If you do not have prior
experience with or knowledge of avionics installations, do not attempt the
following installation. Genesys will not be held liable for damaged items
resulting from improper handling and installation.
