Dust Port
your band saw has a 1-3/4" dust port located on the back of the saw. It blows dust away from the
user. The port can be connected to a dust collection system.
WArning:
never operate saw without the blade guard secured in place.
To do so could result in possible serious personal injury.
WArning:
To avoid personal injury, maintain proper adjustment of
blade tension, blade tracking, blade guides, and thrust bearings.
WArning:
To prevent accidental starting that could cause possible
serious personal injury, turn off the saw, remove the switch key, and unplug the
saw before working on the band saw.
WArning:
To avoid blade contact, adjust the blade guide assembly
to just clear the work piece. Failure to do so could result in serious personal
injury.
WArning:
Do not force the work piece against the blade. Light contact
permits easier cutting and prevents unwanted friction and heating of the blade.
WArning:
This is a wood cutting band saw. Do not use this saw to cut
metal.
Basic Operation Information
NOTE:
Use scrap lumber to check the settings and to get the feel of operating
the band saw before attempting regular work.
For general cutting,
follow the pattern lines by pushing and turning the work piece at the same
time. To achieve a curved radius cut, follow the pattern line with the blade while turning the work
piece.
use both hands to feed the work through the blade and make sure you hold the work piece firmly
against the table. use light pressure and do not force the work piece.
The diameter of a circle cut is determined by the width of the blade. A 1/4" blade will cut a minimum
diameter of approximately 1-1/2", A 1/8" blade will cut a minimum diameter of approximately 1/2".
See Fig 18 for your band saw minimum cutting radius:
