7 Manufacturer's
information
7.1 Transport
Only transport the actuator by suitable
means. Do not drop. Handle carefully.
Dispose of packing material according
to relevant local or national disposal
regulations / environmental protection
laws.
7.2
Delivery and performance
Check that all parts are present and
check for any damage immediately upon
receipt.
The scope of delivery is apparent from
the dispatch documents and the design
from the order number.
The performance of the actuator is
checked at the factory.
The actuator's delivery condition:
ADA: undefined
ASR: closed
7.3 Storage
Store the actuator free from dust and
moisture in its original packaging.
Avoid UV rays and direct sunlight.
Do not exceed the maximum storage
temperature of +40 °C.
Solvents, chemicals, acids, fuels or
similar fluids must not be stored in the
same room as actuators and their spare
parts.
7.4 Tools
required
The tools required for assembly and
setting are
not
included in the scope of
delivery.
Use appropriate, functional and safe
tools.
8 Functional
description
The pneumatic quarter turn actuator works
according to the double piston rack and
pinion principle, and is available as a double
acting (ADA) or single acting (ASR) version.
It is ideal for mounting on butterfly valves
and ball valves with standardised interfaces
in accordance with ISO 5211 or DIN 3337
(F03-F25).
The multifunction indicator is used as an
optical position indicator. It can also be used
to operate mechanical or inductive switches
for the electronic position feedback.
The setting range for the end positions
is ±5° (85° to 95°). This setting facility is
implemented using a precise cam system.
The settings can be implemented without
removing the actuator. By using a stroke
limiter (optional), the end positions can be
set variably between 0° and 90°.
To attach accessories, defined mounting
facilities are also available in accordance
with VDI/VDE 3845 and NAMUR (control air
connector).
Optional accessories:
Electrical limit switches, electro-
pneumatic positioner and
GEMÜ LST, GEMÜ LSR and
GEMÜ LSF electrical position
indicators.
Contact GEMÜ.
8.1 Housing
versions
Version A:
The aluminium housing is hard-anodised
on both the inside and the outside. This
treatment means that the surface will be
extremely abrasion-resistant (which leads
to reduced wear of the adjacent, dynamic
components). In addition, this means that
a good level of resistance against external
environmental in
fl
uences (e.g. industrial
atmosphere) can be achieved. The end
caps are provided with an epoxy coating
(80 - 90
μ
m).
