Condensation
WATER COLLECTION AND REMOVAL
The moisture collected in the condenser area
fl
ows to the pump area. The condensed water can
either be pumped away to a drain line (e.g., into a
standpipe shared with the clothes washer) or stored
in a container within the dryer to be emptied later.
(See
Connecting the Drain Line
.) Regardless of the
con
fi
guration, the pump and
fl
oat work the same
way.
Water Pumped to the Condensation Tank
As water collects in the pump area, the
fl
oat switch
is activated and pumps the water thru the grey hose
up to the condensation tank. The white collar on
the
fl
oat switch is magnetic. As it rises, it trips the
contacts in the switch to send a signal to the control
board to activate the pump.
Once the condensation tank is full, the machine will
pause and the
Tank Full
LED light will illuminate.
If the condensation tank over
fi
lls, water will travel
down the black over
fl
ow hose to the pump area and trigger the
fl
oat switch. An over
fi
ll condition triggered
by the
fl
oat switch will cause the pump to run for 20 seconds. After 4 attempts, if the over
fi
ll is not cleared,
the machine will pause and the
Tank Full
LED light will illuminate.
The user can press the
START/PAUSE
button to repeat the above over
fi
ll process. This can be done unlimited
times as long as the over
fi
ll condition still exists.
Under normal conditions, the pump will run for 20 seconds at the beginning of a cycle and 20 seconds at the
end of a cycle, or if excess water accumulates in the sump area.
