Terminology

FACILITATOR

  -  the  person  conducting  the 

simulation; an instructor or lab staff member.

PROVIDER

  -  a  person  participating  in  the 

simulation as a healthcare provider.

Overview

The  S230.40  Breast  Palpation  Simulator  for 

Clinical Teaching, is an advanced training tool 

used to illustrate breast examination techniques 

and identification of abnormalities.

Gaumard’s  S230.40  Breast  Examination 

Simulator combines state-of-the-art materials to 

create a realistic look, feel and texture in addition 

to  lifelike  softness  and  durability. The  breasts, 

nipples and areola have realistic features.  The 

cysts and masses located in the breasts have 

distinct  textures  useful  in  recognizing  normal 

and abnormal conditions.
As  such,  the  simulator  provides  an  excellent 

platform  on  which  trainees  can  learn  how 

to  perform  a  breast  examination  as  well  as 

demonstrate breast self-examination to women 

who want to learn how to do it. 

APPEARANCE OF THE SIMULATOR

The simulator consists of an adult upper torso 

with  interchangeable  right  and  left  breasts 

including axillary regions. Medium skin tone is 

the standard simulator color; light and dark skin 

is available at no extra charge.
