Chapter 7: Upgrading Your Convertible Notebook

Turn off your convertible notebook.

Disconnect the AC adapter, modem cable, and network cable.

Disconnect all peripheral devices and remove any PC cards.

Make sure the LCD panel is in notebook mode, then close the LCD
panel.

Disconnect your convertible notebook from the optional port
replicator (see

“Disconnecting from the port replicator” on

page 102

Turn your convertible notebook over so the bottom is facing up.

Remove the main battery and optional multibay battery (see

“Changing batteries” on page 76

Loosen the two hard drive bay cover screws (they cannot be
removed), then remove the hard drive bay cover.
