FUNCTION AND OPERATION EXPLANATION

PRO LOGIC II – Opposed to Dolby Pro Logic, which had
four channels (front, left, center, and surround) record
into two channels with matrix processing and then played
back in four channels, Dolby Pro Logic II uses a
feedback logic circuit to have 5.1-channel surrond audio
(Dolby Surround, etc.) matrix-encoded into two channels
and then played back in its original 5.1-channel form.
There are five standard modes; Movie, Music, Virtual,
Pro Logic emulation, and Matrix.

LPCM output---there are LPCM48 K and LPCM 96 K
these two analog output in this unit.

PREFERNCES SETUP

Under the stop mode, Press the SETUP key on remote
to enter “...SETUP MENU...MAIN PAGE...”
By using the 4 arrow keys and the ENTER key, you can
select the function setup you want.
Preset the following items.

TV TYPE---There are three types of TV system setting in
this system: MULTI, NTSC, and PAL. You can select a
different setting according to your TV system.

VIDEO OUTPUT---If you want to use the S-VIDEO
output or YPbpr output, you must first make the setup.
For instance, if you want to use the S-VIDEO output,
then you must setup the S-VIDEO first.

AUDIO---in this unit, ENGLISH, FRENCH, SPANISH,
CHINESE and JAPANESE these five languages have
been setup. Multi-languages playing differs from DVD to
DVD. If the DVD does not have multi-languages, it can
be played only with the language recorded.

SUBTITLE-- In this unit, ENGLISH, FRENCH, SPANISH,
CHINESE and JAPANESE subtitle playing function have
been setup. This function differs from DVD disc to DVD.
If the DVD does not have multi-languages subtitle, it can
be played only with the subtitle recorded. This function
will be invalid if the disc was recorded without subtitles.

Note: If the subtitle has been setup in Spanish, and the
disc has been recorded with Spanish, etc. multi-
languages, the Spanish subtitle will be displayed when
playing this disc.

DISC MENU In this unit, ENGLISH, FRENCH,
SPANISH, CHINESE and JAPANESE these five disc
menu languages have been setup.
If the Disc menu language has been setup in Spanish
and the disc has been recorded with Spanish, etc. multi-
languages, the disc menu will be displayed in Spanish
when playing this disc. If the disc does not have a multi-
languages menu, it can be played only with the disc
menu language recorded.

PARENTAL (restrict the children playing)
This function is used to setup the playing restrictive level.
In stop mode, press the SETUP key on remote control to
enter “…SETUP MENU…MAIN PAGE…”.

1. Use the

key to select “PREFERENCES”, then press

“ENTER” to confirm.

2. Use the

key to select a parental item, then use the

key to choose the grade you want. Then press

SELECT/ENTER key to confirm.

3. Use the

key to move up and down to the choice

(for example, 6 PG-R), then press the ENTER key to
confirm.

4. Press the SETUP key to exit the setup procedure.
