Creating digital music files
Windows Media Player lets you convert music tracks from an audio
CD to .WMA files. This conversion, also known as
ripping
, is like
recording your CD to another medium. After the tracks are ripped
onto your computer’s hard drive, you can transfer them to your
jukebox.
Ripping music with Windows Media Player
To rip a CD using Windows Media Player:

automatically list the album, artist, and track
names of your CD, then use that information
for naming and storing your .WMA files,
connect to the Internet.
