Adding or replacing memory modules
Tools you need to complete this task:
To add or replace memory modules:

Disconnect the AC adapter, modem and network cables, then prepare the notebook
by following the instructions in
“Preparing the notebook” on page 7 .

Turn the notebook over so the bottom is facing up.

Remove the main battery by following the instructions in “Removing the main
battery” on page 8 .

If the modular bay contains the secondary battery, remove the secondary battery
by following the instructions in
“Replacing the modular bay component” on
page 10.

Loosen the captive screw that secures the memory cover. (The screw cannot be
removed.)
Important Use only memory modules designed for the
Gateway 450RGH.
